BACOG Land-use, Planning, and Environmental Issues:
Water Resources Initiative Program overview, Publications and Committee BACOG initiated a grassroots program to study groundwater in the shallow aquifer system. Through the committee, a team of technical advisors and community partners, BACOG has accomplished a series of mapping and modeling products that can inform local decision making, educate residents and businesses about their water quality, and provide the tools to monitoring groundwater supply and quality on an on-going basis in the future.

Impact fees are imposed by local governments to offset proportionate
costs associated with constructing or expanding facilities in response
to new development. is an active member of the Flint Creek Watershed Partnership and has
provided important information about groundwater recharge areas included
in the November 2007 Plan. Spring Creek Watershed PartnershipAs
a new Barrington area watershed initiative begins in 2010/2011, BACOG
will continue to be an active member and supporter of this group's roll
in open space and groundwater protection. View a map of the Spring Creek WatershedBACOG provides on-going assistance to member municipalities and townships related to development challenges. BACOG also works on affordable housing issue in the area.
