The Barrington Area Council of Governments (BACOG) is a voluntary organization of elected officials representing seven local villages and two townships in the Barrington area: Barrington, Barrington Hills, Barrington Township, Cuba Township, Deer Park, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, South Barrington, and Tower Lakes.

The executive board of BACOG includes the seven village presidents and two township supervisors who cooperatively work to:
  • Develop, implement and uphold the BACOG Comprehensive Plan.
  • Develop and promote policies, plans and priorities for regional growth, development and conservation.
  • Discuss, study and act on issues of regional interest and concern.
  • Promote cooperative arrangements for shared services, intergovernmental agreements, and shared districts.
