The Barrington Area Council of Governments (BACOG) is a voluntary organization of elected officials representing seven local villages and two townships in the Barrington area: Barrington, Barrington Hills, Barrington Township, Cuba Township, Deer Park, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, South Barrington, and Tower Lakes.
As a regional planning organization, BACOG serves to 1.) develop, implement and uphold the BACOG Comprehensive Plan, 2.) develop and promote policies, plans and priorities for regional growth, development and conservation, 3.) discuss, study and act on issues of regional interest and concern, and 4.) promote cooperative arrangements for shared services, intergovernmental agreements, and shared districts.

The BACOG office is located in downtown Barrington across from the Jewel-Osco at 118 Applebee Street (2nd Floor). The building sign also displays 116 Applebee street and the entrance for BACOG is located on the southeast corner of the building. Parking is available across the street or behind the building. BACOG is open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday through Thursday. (Get Directions)
