Development Impact Fees are payments required of new development in order to fund public capital facilities that are needed to serve residents of the new development. Impact fees are imposed by local governments to offset a proportionate share of the costs to construct or expand facilities.
The BACOG report provides an overview of how and why impact fees are adopted, as well as details on the legislative aspects, regional survey of impact fees, and future considerations.
